Please ring 8671 3231 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP. If your appointment is urgent please let the receptionist know and we will schedule a review by the doctor. We are always busy and it can be difficult to offer appointments exactly when patients would like them. Thank you for your understanding.
Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our receptionist if you require some extra time. We do offer home visits within the township of Roxby Downs at the doctor’s discretion.
If you are unable to attend your appointment PLEASE let us know in a reasonable time frame so someone else can be offered your appointment time.
Lack of reasonable notice may result in a non-attendance fee being charged.

Billing

This is outlined in the informed financial consent document which you will receive to sign on becoming a new patient or you may review upon request.

Private fees are payable for cosmetic procedures. You will be advised of the cost at your initial consultation.

If you have any difficulties with our fees, please speak to reception.

Bulk billing is at the discretion of the doctor but in general health care card holders, pensioners and children 15 years and under a bulk billed.
Please pay at the time of your appointment.
If your appointment does not come under our Bulk Billing criteria you will be charged a fee.

We accept cash and all major credit cards.

We welcome new patients to our clinic. Please call us on 8671 3231 to make an appointment or use our online system. Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your first appointment to fill out our new patient form.
Our practice offers telephone appointments for existing patients. Please let our staff know if this is your preferred option.
It’s important that everyone who visits us can feel relaxed and comfortable in our waiting room. We appreciate your efforts to limit the spread of illness by covering your mouth and nose if coughing or sneezing and keeping an eye on children.
Your doctor will advise you when they expect your results to arrive at the practice. The doctor or one of our staff will contact you for any follow up care that is required. Printed results can be given to patients who wish to personally call in to collect them.
Legal constraints and best practice procedures dictate that a consultation is made for all repeat prescriptions.

It’s a legal requirement under the Medicare Act that a referral to a specialist only be given after due consideration by the treating physician. This therefore requires your physical attendance at the practice.

The Roxby Downs Hospital Emergency Room can be contacted on 8671 9020 outside of normal hours for non-life threatening emergency care. In an emergency call 000 for an ambulance. We have an arrangement with Roxby Downs Hospital whereby if you identify as one of practice’s patients we will receive notification of your attendance and treatment. Dr Lockwood also participates in the hospital after hours roster. Dr Robbertse is also on the after hours roster.
Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included in our reminder system. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be a part of this system then please let your doctor or the receptionist know.
Our facility is modern and well equipped for the needs of our community.
Occasionally we may have GP registrars and medical students attending the practice and working with our GPs. Please let us know if you would prefer a student or registrar does not attend your appointment.
Accreditation is the process of continuing quality improvement – to let you know we have met the standards set for the medical profession.

The standards used have been written by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
